Even though I expect the Nasdaq to rally to 4200 by mid summer I think the volume will remain lower for many reasons.

1) The Nasdaq as a whole is not performing like last year
2) Nets, who were very high volume leaders have been all but taken out of the equation because of financial strength questions.
3) Many traders were taken out of the market altogether in April.
4) The individual trader is not as confident as last year.
5) The Fed is still a huge part of our lives on Wall Street
6) Valuations are still quite high on the traditional volume leaders.

I think people could add many more reasons as to why the volume will continue to be light but the fact is it's not going away anytime soon as far as I can see.
