Re: Funny thing about the Intel-Rambus relationship is that Rambus never screwed up. The Rambus products work great. It was the early Intel chipsets and then the Intel MTH SDRAM interface that caused probs for Rambus by delaying the market for RDRAM.
Steve, that's a good answer if you are a politician. Where is Timna? Let's see... it was supposed to use DRDRAM, but it was TOOOO expensive so they had to go for the MTH solution... I guess that didn't work so well so now we won't see Timna until Q1... Does AMD have any competition for the Duron in the next 6 months? Nope, because we have no Timna. To me that's the fault of Rambus. Maybe the DRDRAM works, but it is irrelevant if it is too expensive.
As an INTC investor, u should realise that Rambus is what is going to save INTC's butt from the likes of AMD
I really hope the Intel management continues to be this naive also, because it's making me lotsa money. For the record, I'm big into AMD because of Intel's commitment to DRDRAM. How could two people come to such opposite opinions? I don't know, but as long as DRDRAM is severely overpriced I'm benefiting from the stupidity of Intel management.
However, the temptation to... short AMD...
Oh Steve, please post in real time when you short AMD. Now is probably a good time, earnings in a month. You know it's impossible for AMD to put together 3 profitable quarters in a row.
Good luck, you are going to need it,
