Whoddathunkit. Exhibit A is Vince Spadea, who recently set an ATP record for the most consecutive losses at 21. Guy hasn't won since October of last year. Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse for Vince, turns out that his first-round opponent is Greg Rusedski, the guy with a monster lefty first serve that is virtually unreturnable on grass. A total David vs. Goliath matchup. Incredibly, this is the match that Vince goes deep...and scores, winning 9-7 in the fifth. What a great match for Spadea's career, and I have to thank him for taking out Rusedski, one of the more boring players on the tour. Maybe next round, somebody'll ante up and give Spadea some name-brand clothes to wear. Go Vince!
