This article has obviously written by a sensationalist stupid news reporter. The idea behind dot.Net may not be new, but the extent to which it can change the world doesn't seem to dawn upon some folks. Many companies have offered isolated, piece-meal solutions, but what Microsoft is saying is that they will provide ways to integrate all the individual solutions. In fact, I contend that Microsoft has all the technology today to deliver what they are promising.
The idea behind dot.Net is to allow users to access whenever, where ever, whatever they want. The idea is also to get all the web services to interoperate so that effects in one system make their effects felt on others. This endeavor by the world's biggest pure software company (there is no denying that) has not been undertaken by any other. You will see...
