if softbank is to pull themselves out of this mess, they need to change their strategy...as i have elucidated to back in jan and february when it looked like we were invincible, they need to concentrate on infrastructure and B2B/software co's with a great business model and avoid B2C's period!...while my bashing wasnt popular on this thread, it was clear back during the initial sell-off in april of 99' that the B2C sector was dying(now officially dead<gg>)...nasdaq japan will not in itself save us imo, a better business plan will...they need to quit supporting co's that will all have to compete with each other...they need co's that will sell to everyone and everything, not dependent on who wins the retail side of the internet...softbank should be emulating MRVC(aka the CMGI of the fiber optic space)!..they are taking stakes in upstart fiber optic co's and are already ready to spin some of them out...even jafco and transcosmos does a better job of this than softbank imo...these co's fly out of the gate with mkt caps near 10B and go up...people buy the future and if softbank can start to take stakes in the right co's, we will turn this thing around...not trying to bash softbank here but we have to face reality...most of the co's that i follow are up 100-200% from the march lows while softbank hasnt budged...this worries me...jmho of course.
