I recently brought home a new Maria Muldaur CD. She's aged remarkably well. She sounds like a torch singer on this record. Her voice has gotten kind of boozy, but it sounds good accompanied by the band she has with her. Lots of bass, sax and vibes. She does "Gee Baby, Ain't I Good to You" and "It Ain't the Meat, It's the Motion" and other tunes along those lines.

Her voice isn't as sweet as when "Midnight at the Oasis" (have that record too) was a hit, but it's just as nice to listen to.

I also have an old Kweskin Jug Band record that features a young singer named Maria D'Amato. It's almost like having a chronicle of somebody's life here.
