Motherboard compatibility is a big problem for Celeron II's
above 533 MHz. I did a little checking on Anand's site,
looking at motherboard reviews for socket 370 after
1/1/2000
.

Here's what I found: Review Date &
Mobo Chipset MaxMultiplier Notes
Abit ZM6 Intel ZX 2/17/99 8x
Abit VA6 VIA Apollo 133A 2/8/00 8x 8x max from PDF manual
AOpen MX64 VIA Apolla 133A 1/31/00 8x
DFI PW-65E Intel i810E 3/26/00 8x
Elitegroup VIA Apollo133 4/15/00 8x
EPoX EP3VCA VIA Apollo133A 2/8/00 8x
FIC KA-11 VIA Apollo133A 1/20/00 8x
FIC KW15 Intel i810E 2/5/00 8x
Freetech P6F107 Intel BX 9/18/99 8x
ShuttleAV64 VIA Apollo133A 3/4/00 8x
Supermicro PIIISED i810E 1/23/00 6x
Transcend TSUWH31 i810 1/16/00 8x
Tyan S1854 VIA Apollo133A 1/11/00 8x

In the complete list of Socket 370 motherboards reviewed in
Y2K, there is NOT ONE that can work with a Celeron over 533
MHz!

I believe this is a chipset problem that cannot be corrected
with a BIOS upgrade, since 8X is listed as the limit in the
specifications of several I have checked.
