Thanks thecow. I checked and found this:

Problem Description:

The Display Reads "No Disc" When There Is A Disc Inserted Into The CD Player.

Solution:

"No Disc" will appear on the display when the player does not detect that there is an audio CD
loaded.

This can result if the CD was not loaded correctly (label side facing the wrong way), or if the CD is
dirty or defective or a data disc.

This is exactly my problem. I know all my discs aren't dirty and believe that the problem is with the player itself, but the site doesn't mention that it could be a problem with the player.

Thanks for your help.
