This company seems to have some sort of radio substitute for SDH/SONET that includes an optical imaging technology. Ken Phillips posted the link on the NT thread. Does anyone know how this might work? Thanks - peggylynn

RadioTel Wireless Communications, which developed a technology for optic fibre imaging in wireless communications, has signed an agreement with Canadian communications manufacturer Nortel.
RadioTel launched its product, a system called RadioRing, in February of this year. The company's first agreement was with Bezeq.

The Bezeq order amounted to $1 million, with an option for another $2 million. The system installed for Bezeq operates on a frequency of 18 gigaherz and provides 52 megabytes of bandwidth.

The RadioTel system is unique in that it constitutes a substitute for optic-fibre-based SDH and SONET relay systems. Meaning that instead of point-to-point radio connectivity, the system operates in an aerial ring enabling information to be downloaded from it at each and every point.
