LIMERICK, Penn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 27, 2000--SEDONA(R) Corporation (NASDAQ: SDNA) (www.sedonacorp.com) announced today a corporate initiative to extend the reach of its Internet-based customer relationship management (CRM) solution into global markets.

The company has engaged Japan Entry Corporation, a strategic consulting firm specializing in Japan market entry, to help it establish a Japan-based distributorship. Japan Entry will identify and qualify potential candidates and help SEDONA to select or one or more of these companies to market and sell its Intarsia(TM) Internet CRM application to Japanese financial institutions.

Intarsia is a comprehensive CRM solution that provides personalized customer interactions and profitability management to help optimize sales and marketing opportunities specifically for small and mid-sized financial services companies such as community banks, credit unions, brokerage firms and insurance agencies.

"Choosing our distributors and marketing the Intarsia solution to the Japanese financial community is the preliminary step to entering this thriving marketplace," said Marco Emrich, president and CEO, SEDONA Corporation. "Japan Entry's proven track record in helping organizations to establish operations in Japan was extremely important in our decision to select them as our strategic partner. We are looking forward to working very closely with them to build a strong sales and marketing presence in such an important marketplace."

Japan Entry, the leading strategic consultant for IT companies interested in entering or enhancing their presence in Japan, sees wide-ranging opportunity for SEDONA in the Far East.

"Small and mid-sized financial institutions in Japan are looking for new ways to grow their relationships with customers and to effectively target marketing programs," said Jack Plimpton, president, Japan Entry. "Intarsia is specifically designed to help financial services companies to personalize their sales and marketing efforts while at the same time manage their profitability.
