Just recvd. email from NOK - IR, in response to my questions regarding QCOM/NOK rumors, the comments by the CEO saying that they are 18 months behind in CDMA and that they will win going forward. I asked if a deal with QCOM was in the making. Her answer:

Hello,
Thank you for your inquiry.
Nokia is working at becoming a market leader in the CDMA area. It has
dedicated R&D focusing on its own chipset design and is committed to that
endeavor for the future. It has however recognized the trailing position it
is in and will do what is necessary to gain market share. In fact, please
review the attached press release announced on Friday, June 26, 2000
announcing a manufacturing agreement Nokia signed with Telson, a Korean CDMA
manufacturer. press.nokia.com
Please let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you also for your
support of Nokia.
Regards,
Audrey McGinnis
Manager Investor Relations
