Henry,
Excuse me but some of your message is a little unclear. I believe Intel will counter with a suit alleging DEC infringement of Intel patents. The typical result of patent disagreements in the industry is "cross-licensing" arrangements where companies agree to allow each other to use their patents. I would be surprised if that happened here due to the surprise attack nature of DEC's move. I believe it is a last ditch attempt to save the company as it is increasingly clear DEC is losing any kind of position it once had in the computer industry.

However, I do not have any idea what patents are allegedly infringed, nor what Intel owns, nor am I qualified to judge who is right.
