As a Bush supporter I agree. However, this is politics, not reality (I wish there were no difference). Bush is so far ahead of Gore that he can avoid all trouble by keeping his mouth shut. This is what anyone with this big of a lead would do.

When Bush gives specifics, they are generally well received. Gore has now copied the Bush Social Security plan. Bush certainly is seen as stronger on foreign policy and national security (by default maybe).
