SI's bogus Terms of Use business has to be the biggest crock in the online universe. What a ridiculous game
Dan,
I'm a member of SI from the very beginning, where membership was free and there was no control at all, and I remember a few mails with Brad about a controlled entry and some kind of ruling. My major concern those days was the hyping of small stock by certain people with a "guru" status. I'm sure some of them made a fortune with it those days. This turned into the "Terms of Use" and a controlled membership. Two things which separates us positively from the likes of Yahoo etc.
I also remember the time of the big flamewars between Albert, Elmer, Paul, Yousef and a few others. And I must say, I became so sick of it, I stopped following the AMD thread. Albert was kicked off, most of the others not, which was and still is, unfair. They should have kicked them all off.
I was happy to see Albert back, because he has good sources and a lot of information. He is professionally involved in institutional investing and has access to the very advanced systems, but to some people, he seems to act like a red flag. I haven't complained about him to SI, but I don't want those old flamewars to start again. I planned to PM both Albert and Elmer this evening to get over it, but this seems not needed any more. I still wish they do the same with some other guys.
