Thanks for catching that. I really mean't that running a Duron at 750 is really not even putting it in first gear.
That extra 50 MHz indeed puts presure on Intel who surely doesn't want to dumb down good 750 Hz Pentium III dies and sell them for 1/3. And of course the extra 50 at the low end makes it that much easier to "megahertz sell" a system...

The extra 50 on the Duron might also mean that AMD is prepared to bump up the Thunderbird a speed grade or two...
since it doesn't make much sense to overlap their speed ranges..
