noj, don't forget, the USA taxes interest earned! So the higher the interest rates, the higher the taxes. Of course, they can't print a lot of money to spend AND get higher interest rates simultaneously. Capital gains taxes are nice, but maybe not as juicy as interest rate taxes. Mqurice
