What I was hoping to find was how the magical Terabeam worked, or if it works at all.

I understand that it supposedly will serve up to 24 clients in each geographic quadrant, or about 100 total in a 360 degree arc, using a fat laser beam to allow for receiver misalignment. Transmission power would normally be sufficient to burn through weather, but the fat beam tends to offset this.

What I'd like to get it is the mechanism for the optical transmission and the effective client bandwidth. Anyone have a clue?
