I think the drought in the US is significant. I'm not an expert on farming, but I've heard that if things keep going the way they are, US crops will fail this year, whereas Canadian crops should be okay, so SWP may see a higher wheat price and higher export volumes soon.

Still I wouldn't buy SWP quite yet. When news of the dividend cut came out, the stock dropped down near $3 intraday. It's unusual for such a sharp downspike to be the absolute bottom. A more likely outcome would be for SWP to eventually revisit that low and make a base about a month from now. Many individuals and funds that were holding it for the dividend will likely sell now, but volumes have not been very high yet, so that also makes me think there is more selling to come.

But what do I know? I've made the majority of posts about SWP lately, but I'm not trying to stake it out as my territory or anything. Anybody else have an opinion?
