<<? We estimate that chipsets likely will represent 38% and 35% of operating profits in the
September 2000 quarter and fiscal 2001, respectively. Chipsets for phones sold in the
domestic Korean market. The domestic Korean market is expected to represent about
20% and 15% of global CDMA subscribers in fiscal 2000 and fiscal 2001 respectively.
This suggests that 5-7% of QUALCOMM?s EPS is derived from the domestic Korean
market.>>

The Q management had to make this announcement to be completely forthright and straight. Now, please don't forget the NOK/Telson/QCOM deal. NOK has started buying Q chips through telson. Jorma O., the NOK CEO said they will make a big splash into the CDMA business this year, he said they have been behind in the CDMA business, and plan to win big (by using Q chips).

Does anyone think NOK CDMA phones with Q ASICs will not be a huge seller all over the world?
