I know what you mean about your father. Mine smoked a pipe and the smell does bring back memories. Interesting story about the cigars - I'm going to save it. Maybe someday I'll visit Cuba and a friend will say, oh by the way, can you pick me up some...:-)

As long as the Cuban exiles can summon the votes they do, and Castro stays in power, there will be an embargo of some sort. It will be interesting to see what happens after Fidel goes, will the US keep saying, meet these conditions before we help/trade/allow tourists to visit you? I think US-Cuba relations will continue to be rocky no matter who is in charge over there.
