IBM NewsBit: J.D. Edwards Extends World Product Offerings for IBM AS/400e Servers; New Solutions Give Customers More Choices, Support and Power

New support and services announced for the J.D. Edwards & Company (NASDAQ: JDEC) WorldSoftware(R) product line will enable AS/400e(R) customers to tap into emerging e-business applications and protect their investments.

The new AS/400-based offerings will provide additional functionality for WorldSoftware customers by including key features such as extensions for storefront offerings, B2B, B2C, WebSphere, and wireless support encompassing Supply Chain Management, Customer Relationship Management and e-commerce functions.

J.D. Edwards plans to extend formal support of WorldSoftware to 2005 and provide additional functionality for WorldSoftware. The company will continue providing interoperability with OneWorld(R)components, including Siebel and Ariba. J.D. Edwards will also extend alliances to key partners that have WorldSoftware extensions to complete the WorldSoftware portfolio of offerings.

In conjunction with this announcement, J.D. Edwards is creating a new business unit to focus on development, sales, support and training for the WorldSoftware product. The new division, called the World Software Company, will consist of approximately 550 employees and will be led by David Siebert, group vice president, WorldSoftware Division, J.D. Edwards.
