Qualcomm, Novatel Wireless sign CDMA
modem card deal

UNITED STATES- Qualcomm Inc. and
Novatel Wireless Inc. have announced that they
have entered into a CDMA technology modem
card license agreement.

Under the terms of the royalty-bearing
agreement, Qualcomm has granted Novatel
Wireless a worldwide license under
Qualcomm's CDMA technology and patents to
design and market modem card products for
CDMA and HDR applications.

"Qualcomm is pleased to license its technology
to Novatel Wireless for the development of
CDMA-and HDR-enabled wireless Internet
solutions to fulfill the demand for wireless
Internet connectivity in the rapidly expanding
CDMA marketplace," said Steve Altman,
president of Qualcomm Technology Alliances.
"Novatel Wireless' proven leadership in
developing affordable wireless Internet
solutions for mobile and fixed environments
further supports Qualcomm's vision of
providing CDMA-enabled devices with
innumerable applications to consumers and
businesses worldwide."

development of high-speed wireless Internet
