Even in places too small or too out of the way to have formal hotels or B&Bs there is always a place to stay, at a small store you just ask in front of the children if there is a se¤ora who rents rooms. One time i started [or revived more likely] a feud between two cousins, with one of whom i had made a deal to rent her room subject to viewing, and the other whose room i actually ended up at ... i had stayed behind at the store to have a beer with some men, and the boy of eight or nine years who led me to 'the house' took me to his mother's, and then disappeared ... i settled in before realising that this was not the house of the woman with whom i had made a deal at the store ... well you would not believe the shrieking and hollering ... luckily the males peripherally involved knew instinctively that the thing to do was to wander off down by the river and drink beer until things calmed down.
