Bullsht, Robert - the brutality of the Reagan years is still recent and strong in the memories of latinos ... and it was only the latest in a long sick history of cruel US manipulation of the peoples to its south. I don't like Castro either, as you well know ... but for one thing i respect him - he has stood up to the eight thousand pound gorilla to his north, and maintained the independence of his country ... to this day, only the small corner of cubano territory around Guant namo Bay is occupied by the US ... not only that, he pushed the mafia back to Miami and kept them back for over fourty years ... good on him for that, imho.
