<< ... and it was only the latest in a long sick history of cruel US manipulation of the peoples to its south. >>

Nonsense. If it weren't for U.S. influence, assistance and aid to South and Central America countries, over the decades, those countries would've been a lot worse today. God bless the U.S.!

<< ... he has stood up to the eight thousand pound gorilla to his north ... >>

What total nonsense! What has his people gained from Castro's ignorance and arrogance against America? If Castro had any brains (I mean "working" brains), he would have kept his independence and kept a friendly relationship with the U.S. Cuba would've been a paradise, and it's people would have been much better off.

Instead, Castro chose to become a ruthless dictator and steal from his people. Castro is a blood sucker. He "stood up" to the U.S.? What garbage! All he did was isolate his nation and murder his own people.

<< ... but for one thing i respect him >>

You can respect Castro, or you can respect Charles Manson, or you can respect Stalin, or you can respect Neville Chamberland, if you want to. But, you won't get any medals from me for doing so.
