If the behaviors of the Miami Gonzalezes were any example, I guess I just don't see them as particularly "loving." To me, and apparently to Juan Miguel, they thought they "knew best" and were willing to go to any lengths to get their way. They could not accept that Juan Miguel did NOT want to stay in the US, or that their behavior probably cemented his anger at them and his decision to go back. Cubans on either side of the strait seem to have a great deal of pride, love of country, and an authoritarian streak. Offering help is one thing. Assuming that you know best about what to do with that help is a recipe for disaster.
