Intel Investors - Max Palevsky Donates $20 Million to University Of Chicago.

Max was the founder of Scientific Data Systems - one of the first " Super Mini Computers" - and sold out to Xerox for about $900 Million in the late 1960's - and invested some of the dough in Intel when it was founded.

Intel Founder Gives $20 Million to Chicago School
CHICAGO (Reuters) - Max Palevsky, a founder and director emeritus of Intel Corp. (NasdaqNM:INTC - news), has pledged to give $20 million to the University of Chicago to construct a three-building, 700-student dormitory complex, the school said on Wednesday.

Palevsky, a 1948 graduate of the school, said the gift allowed him ``to show my appreciation for what the University of Chicago did for me. It was the crucial experience of my life.''

The university said the complex, to be completed in the fall of 2001, would contain a foreign language media center, computer rooms and soundproof music practice rooms in addition to living space.

Palevsky was one of the first major investors in Intel Corp. and served as a director from 1968 until last year.
