Birch Mountain shares suspended Birch Mountain Resources Ltd BMD Shares issued 30,733,825 Jun 15 close $1.35 Wed 28 Jun 2000 Miscellaneous Further to the Canadian Venture Exchange bulletin dated June 15, 2000, the shares of Birch Mountain Resources Ltd. will be suspended from trading effective at the close of trading June 28, 2000, pursuant to Rule C.1.07. The Exchange is requiring an independent review and verification of the company's proprietary precious metal extraction technology and the reported occurrence of precious metals on its Athabasca Prairie gold property. This review will be conducted in the context of the company's public disclosure. Trading will remain suspended pending completion of this independent review and the receipt and assessment of the findings. TIA ""..TRADING RULE C.1.07: CDNX Trading Rules Trading Session C.1.01 Session The Board shall establish the days on which there will be sessions for trading on CDNX and the times on those days at which sessions for trading shall be opened and closed. The President of the Exchange may establish amended times for these sessions, on a temporary basis, which shall not extend beyond the next meeting of the Board. C.1.02 Open for Business Notice of opening shall be displayed on all CDNX workstations and trading shall continue until the closing notice is displayed after which time no further business shall be transacted C.1.03 Trading Session - Suspension by President Where in the opinion of the President circumstances exist or are about to occur that could result in other than the orderly trading of listed securities, the President may, with the consent of the Chair of the Board or in his or her absence the Vice-Chair or in the absence of both of them any two directors, suspend trading for one or more trading sessions or any part of a trading session. C.1.0.3.1 Other Suspension of Trading Sessions Without limiting the powers conferred by Rule C.1.03, for the purposes of the application of Policy Statement CR07, the Executive Vice-President for Trading Services, the Vice-President, Trading Services, or the Manager, Trading Services or, in the absence of all of them, the acting Vice-President, Trading may suspend trading in accordance with the provisions of Policy Statement CR07. C.1.04 Trading Session - Suspension by Board Notwithstanding the provisions of Rule C.1.06, the President shall close the Exchange for the number of consecutive trading sessions that may be ordered by the Board upon the passing of a resolution to that effect by a vote of two-thirds of a quorum of the Board. RULE 1.07 refers to BELOW RULE C.1.05 Trading Halts and Delays 1. When the Exchange is of the opinion or finds that a company having its securities listed and trading on the Exchange: a. is not in compliance with the terms of its Listing Agreement, b. may have had a material change take place in its business or operations that could significantly affect the market price of its shares, or c. circumstances exist in the opinion of the Exchange which could materially affect the public interest, the Exchange may halt trading in that company's securities until the circumstances giving rise to the halt have been settled to the satisfaction of the Exchange. 2. When the Exchange finds that there are unexplained changes in the price of securities of a company which are listed and trading on the Exchange or that there is an imbalance of orders in these securities, the Exchange may delay trading in those securities until a time which is not later than the end of the current trading session. 3. The Exchange may temporarily prohibit order entry on a security when an order, if accepted, would cause unusual market activity. C.1.06 Halt or Delay Rescinded Where a halt or delay in trading is rescinded during a trading session notice of the rescission of the halt or delay and the time set for resumption of trading shall be displayed on CDNX. C.1.07 Trading Suspension Notwithstanding the provisions of Rule C.1.05, the Exchange may, where any of the circumstances set out in that rule exist or the Exchange considers it to be in the public interest, suspend trading in the securities of a company having its securities listed and trading on the Exchange until such time as the circumstances giving rise to the suspension have been settled to the satisfaction of the Exchange
