Karen,

Amazing you should ask that question. I spoke with Edwarda's sister tonight for about an hour. I had called her to ask her permission to use Edwarda's real name as part of the Memorial Fund title. Edwarda's sister Claudia will go back to work tomorrow for the first time since her sisters death. She is just going back part time for now.
Edwarda's niece is taking this very very hard. It seems that the niece buried her best friend within the past year and now her only Aunt. Edwarda's 17 year old nephew seems to be playing the role of the man of the house.....in his attempt to deal with the emotions his mom and sister are dealing with.

Claudia, (Edwarda's sister) wanted me to extend her sincere thanks to all those people from SI who reached out and made it possible for her to be with her sister when she died. She has no doubt that Edwarda knew she was there, and the time before her passing. Claudia felt that family fences were mended. She feels that would not have been possible before Edwarda's untimely death, had it not been for the people here. She had also shared with me...that she did not know what it meant to someone to have sent her 500 dollars...(she did not mention any names.....) but said that she did not know how it effected their life style, but to her it meant being able to take a few days longer off work to grieve, after she had returned home from NYC, and still be able to pay her bills.
