Actually, I do foreign policy rather than domestic policy, and national security rather than economic related stuff, so I have no special expertise in either the general area or specific issues you raise. That said, I think you might be taking an overly cynical and/or conspiratorial view. Certainly there are some decisions and policies that are driven by direct or indirect corruption and/or special interest lobbying, but not all are, and I would want significant evidence about individual cases before levying such a charge. JMO, of course.
