Hi Darrell -- <<After all this time they continue to include Jaz in VS800.>>
Actually, Roland has discontinued the option of Jaz w/ VS880 due to a higher percentage rate of "issues", as they prefer to call them, compared to other Roland equipment. This comes directly from Roland Corp US, 213.685.5141

A competitor of theirs, EMU, is also experiencing some issues but has not decided whether the severity and frequency warrant a similar action.

I suspect that multi-track audio recording and editing is a harder on a drive than the average, everyday "spreadsheet and word processor" use. Whilst I do not have technical proof of this, I've been doing this type of work for the past 5 years, and for lack of a more precise wording, 'it just seems that way'.

Having said that, I find it very difficult to agree with anything else Rocky says. Mind you, the longs on this thread are generally, right - and Rocky is often easily disprovable. But let's give him this one since there is so little else that he can get right.

Besides, I was speaking to this Albanian immigrant who lives next door to this guy from Latvia and he says his brother from Zimbabwe has never had a problem with the Jaz drive that belongs to his neighbor from Czechoslovakia. =)
