Here are a few snipets from DSL Prime newsletter:
Analog Devices and Orckit have both announced 8 port fullrate ADSL chipsets. Within the year, these will double the number of ports on a linecards, supporting more users in each DSLAM. (32-64 per line card) Chip roadmaps suggest they will double again in 12-18 months, meaning DSLAMs installed today will be to support far more users and require proportionate increased bandwidth well before the end of their life. Centillium's IPO has brought them much attention lately, but many don't realize how many chips ADI is shipping. The breadth of their customer base is suggestive: Argentina, Australia, Austria, Brazil, Canada, China, Finland, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Korea, Monaco, New Zealand, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Taiwan, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom and the United States of America.
Motorola DSL chips have always drawn attention, but relatively few customers. However, they just broke through at Samsung, with an order that may scale to half-a-million chipsets.
There was a rumor on the Yahoo thread about Motorola is 1 of Aware's new customers. Any thoughts?
