Ericsson warned that 3G licensing costs may slow the wireless industry. At first glance, I assumed the statement meant licensing intellectual property, from other companies, that made the technology possible. But then article states that Ericsson thought that the auctioning of licenses made sense at first but now that has caused the high cost? If intellectual property licenses is what Ericsson means, why would it be auctioned ? maybe a Dutch auction (had to use that pun ? all the Icelandics are the same to me, hehehehe)- it is not in limited supply, a company can license it all day long. So now I think it means spectrum , which is limited and is auctioned. If that is the case, why didn?t the journalist specify that? It is kind of a salient point, don?t you think?
Anyway, if it is a concern about the cost of spectrum then, who or maybe a better phrase, what does that make more important now? Clue, what is the most spectrally efficient deployment for wireless communications.
Hehehehe, the stupid Europeans are having their time-division crap blow up in their faces, hey matey????? And the stupid journalists are writing the story so it will hurt ALL wireless companies, so maybe us smart folks can use this to buy the solution to the stupid Europeans? problem. We all know what that solution is don?t we?
Oh where or where is Underdog, I mean CDMA to the rescue. |
