John, I am a major shareholder of Intel and I truly feel that today's shocking action by Digital impugnes the reputation of Intel's corporate officers in that it is implying that the leadership is corrupt and dishonorable. Intel has a resposibility now to its shareholders to vigorously counteract with a lawsuit against Digital.

My instincts tells me that this is nothing but frivolous crap in a desperate attempt for DEC to survive. Does anybody on this or any other Intel thread think that INTC is that stupid to infringe on another's patent and be selling its latest chips which is suspected to generate billions only to face illegal patent infrigement charges??. If INTC did violate the DEC patents, then why was it not stated so before. I tell you why because there is no infringement patent and DEC is not a prosperous company as Intel.

First Amd with Intel flaw bug, now Digital with patent infrigmenents. They are full of it and blowing smoke. AMD and especially DEC are loosers to their shareholders.

If you research the 10 year performance of stock price appreciation for Intel, Advance Micro Devices and Digital Equipment, you will see that the return to shareholders was the following:

INTEL 2371%
AMD 424%
DEC -70% (minus seventy percent)

Digital is going under and they are desperate. Intel will crush them as a result of this unsubstantiated and infamous assault on their goodname and reputation. Intel will need to countersue for billions in DEC outrageous attemtp to injure INTELS honorable standing in the world community.. I think shareholders better sell their stock in Digital and take their loses while they are at a minumum.
