I lose out on the cool post thing to some Beantown putzhead
Hmmmmm.....words like "team player" don't exactly spring to mind.
Just guessing here, but I bet you're suffering from all those years of being picked last, and playing lots of Right Field as a kid. Dr. Id, you may want to jump in on this and further explore this hypothesis.
Look, Tekbrat, don't get discouraged or down on yourself. Over the supervening months, many many of your posts have had some value, however marginal. Ya gotta keep going to the plate swingin'; one of these days, you'll get on base. Once you get that first base hit, your confidence will be restored, your batting average will begin to approach .200, and the crowd will appreciate your hard effort.
But I would gently say that incessant pandering to the Umpires may not be well received on their part. All that verbiage that seems to spill out, very much like a ruptured intestine, may put some off. Just because you hit a couple of nice line drives that got picked off doesn't give you license to be pouty, or kick the watercooler around. Ask yourself......how would Mickey Mantle, or Roberto Clemente handle things?
Sometimes, the strong, silent approach is worth considering. And if you connect, don't boast, but just continue on as though you expected it all the time.
In the meantime, I really think you are perfect for the role of Costanza here on "The Thread about Nothing".
