I loved the book, but am reluctant to see the movie, since I already know how it ends. There was some footage on The Discovery Channel, the most interesting was about the women on the sailboat, and live footage of the rescue by the helicopter crew. I was bemused by Rex Reed's review. He said that the characterizations of the crew of George Clooney's boat were weak after they got on board, and that the few incidents aboard seemed desultory. Well, yeah. What they know of the events on board are some few things related to family and friends on ship to shore calls. I suspect that is going to be a weak point in the movie. The book had the advantage of having an omniscient perspective, that doesn't seem to work in movies.

Tell Ammo that being in a smallish vessel in a big storm isn't nearly as much fun as he thinks, at least, I didn't think so. Those waves look as big as a house when they fall on you.
