did you get what the CB emissaries said at the Paris gold conference? ("riskless asset, the only form of money not someone else's obligation, why lease if the borrowers depress the price" etc.) sounded like a pretty upbeat message...they suggested gold, or gold backed securities might play a role in supplanting govt. bonds as an investment vehicle one day...that sounded a bit too radical for me, but i did like the idea of gold as a hedge against financial risk being underscored. of course, judging from the action of the XAU today, the recent rally was yet another fake-out...
