Technically, I'm not in practice. I advise my client, but he relies upon outside counsel for litigation matters. So, unfortunately, I am unable to provide you with any intelligent insight.

In light of the above, I can comment that things will soon change, but the question is when as well as where. Factors to consider are (1) public monies available to invest in such technologies, and as you know, the court system is not one of the most well-funded branches of gov't. Another factor to consider is (2)complexity. For example, here in So. California, it is not uncommon to see electronic access to public documents in the less dense areas of the region than compared to Los Angeles County. One reason is that the legal database in the urban core is tremendously more voluminous, more complex, and arguably much more burdensome to administer, let alone install while at the same time run an essential operation that is functioning without online access.
