Or the pigs might fly. Following the last exchange I have concluded, to my great surprise, that number of the people on this thread seriosly believe that

1) the GSM campïs GPRS + EDGE + 3G will not fly, and

2) there is actually some chance of CDMA2000 taking over W-CDMA

Let me bring you some light.

There has been some 60 GPRS deals already. Compare that to all the real CDMA1 deals so far. By all the major mfgs of GSM. Furthermore, EDGE is costwise only a modest upgrade to GPRS.

CDMA2000 is a good system. However, it does not fit on top of an existing GSM network.

As most of the worldïs networks are GSM based the market potential for CDMA2000 and its data derivatives is very limited.

Its your money.
