I think I'm developing an affection for the extremism of Newsmax

Yes, I'm glad to have Newsmax in my life. Sort of like a dotty old aunt or an uncle who drinks too much and thinks he's an Irish or Italian tenor. Adds color and texture to one's life.

Now what are going to do with this great group of people here?

Oh, I don't know. It would be so sad to see the old gang break up. We've had some good discussions, many of which had nothing to do with Elian. One thing I've liked about this thread is that there never seemed to be a need to declare anything "off topic."

We've talked on and off about lots of subjects than are still on-going, like relations with Cuba or the Mexico-U.S. border problems or the fairness of the press. Even soccer. GOOOOLLLLLLLL! Perhaps people will continue to post updates on some of the old subjects. One problem with continuing is that the topics we've discussed are much like those from the Feelings thread and several of this group post there so there's really no reason for them to do so here. I suppose we could all invade that thread. I'm sure they'd just love that! Just what that stew needs is more personalities. <g>

Maybe this group is just one of those happy accidents that can't be replicated and we should just enjoy the memory.

I don't know.
