Caught this story in today's LA Times, which I found very interesting & was not aware of until today. Notwithstanding the likely settlement & imposition of penalties and fines, I find the activities of GTE to a glimpse of the future in the delivery of "last mile" services. As competition heats up, competition will not solely be based upon price, but rather "soft" economics, and guess who is likely to be the victim of such practices? Yup, the itty-bitty consumer.
