Canada's Agnico-Eagle insists it still won't hedge gold output Toronto--June 29--Canada's Agnico-Eagle Mines Ltd will "never sell any ounce of gold forward," president and CEO Sean Boyd said at the company's annual shar eholder meeting on Thursday. Boyd said that hedging activities by other gold producers and speculative short sellers has hurt the gold price and added that the company won't consider gold hedging, as it would restrict Agnico-Eagle's upside to a gold price rally, which would in turn impair its share price.
