I don't know whether Edwarda was tested for that, but I do know that the doctors warned her sister and niece who had come to visit that it might be dangerous to stay in Edwarda's apartment during the visit because whatever made her sick might be in the apartment. Isn't the primary organ affected by stachybotris the lungs? In Edwarda's case, I don't believe that pulmonary inflammation was the primary problem.
