Sonny, My guess is AMD could be an alternative supply to DEC only if DEC cannot make money(license fee) from INTEL and the lawsuit goes toward the worst case.

First. If I was not worng, more Dec workstations have sold to corporates than individules. Corporates buy INTEL but not AMD even AMD has a favorable price.

Secondly, K6 doesn't run NT as well as P/2, nor does it run in multi proceesors server.

Last, individuals who buy slot 1 motherboard can easily upgrade the PC by pluging in the 300-500Mhz P/2 SEC. Whether socket 7 users can get the same upgrade from K6 or K9 is questionable.

INTEL is no anti DEC. INTEL steps on DEC's just because the INTEL processors is geting more and more faster and sooner or later the market will overlap.

I had bad mouth on DEC because I saw large brain loss in DEC. I hope the management has improved now.

Correct me if I am wrong, I don't want to mislead other investors in this thread.
