While nothing's impossible, I still suspect it's a program and not the kernel that's leaking memory. If you'd really like to find out where the memory's going, you should be able to record the active processes and mem usage at the beginning of your day using task manager. After your day is over, use task manager again to take a look at the processes and see which ones are new and where there's significant change in memory usage.

I assume you've used task manager before, but in case not, you get to it with Ctl-Alt-Del and selecting it from the dialog that comes up.
