Sonny ---Good Morning ---I read all your posts ---will try to give some feedback on QCOM . I do not feel that I would invest anymore money in the company for now ---too much FUD going on . The company sales are doing find in the US with Verizon and Sprint but overseas due to the political situation it is up in the air ( China , South Korea ) . CDMA is the better tecnology than GSM -Cheaper , more efficent ( double the voice capacity )- Has HDR coming out next year ( 2.4 Meg download capabilty to a phone etc ) but they may be lock out of some forign markets unless "Q" and NOK come to an agreement . At present Verizon and Sprint are not buying NOK CDMA phones because they are not up to "Q" quality but this is only a small portion of the world market . Buy if you have a long time horizon ---I am currently down on the stock money wise and will lighten up if I can break even . It is a shame that I did not take profits earleir in the year . I believed the FED is on hold for now ---not so much for interest rates but the tax hike we took on oil prices . I believed AL GORE has lost the election due to his lack of a strong plan to get us out of this energy situation . This is defintely a national defense issue when we cannot control our own energy supplies . Boy did he have a chance to show he was Presidental and just stood their and let a inept cabinet member handle the situatuion . By the way on pollution ---half comes from cars ,trucks , manufacturing etc but the other half primarly come from coal fired plants . Not the new ones but the ones that were grandfathered in before 1977 ( clean air act ) . I do not understand why the government does not go back and have them put scrubbers on the plants or convert to natural gas . The issue with the addtive in gas is just a drop in the bucket compared to the old coal fired plants . I know you and I live on the east coast and it killing the trees in the mountains with the haze . What stocks are you in at present ? I am in QCOM , TXN ,CNXT and NT . Chip sales were up 35 % year over year for the month of May but you could not tell it by my stocks . Hope Brian is right about a rally --sure would like to be involved in one !
