Just some filler text here so I can move my first quote marks or html code down far enough in the message so that it should post.

Bob, Can you understand how intolerable this is? We are your customers, not your buddies or your pen-pals

You're preaching to the choir, Allan.

As a seasoned programmer and business processes analyst of 15 years (right up to the day I was offered this job), I'm not even *remotely* missing what happened here and all the implications.

But, I'm *now* basically a glorified Customer Support Rep, and a remote one at that, so the level of control I have over these kinds of things is nowhere near what it was when I was ultimately responsible for the technology of far larger systems 3 years ago.

There's only so much I can do and even less I can say.

I don't think anyone would disagree (and hopefully nobody will have a problem with my saying) that these problems shouldn't have happened, but the fact of the matter is that they have and we must fix them and move on.

Am I correct in thinking that the problem with people being unable to post was fixed last night? Someone showed me what Erik K had posted in the AMD thread about how to get around the problem, but I'm seeing posts now that look like they're getting through but wouldn't have if the underlying problem Erik K discovered hadn't been fixed.

[addendum: Lovely! "Error writing to database" on my first attempt. Will try Erik's fix this time.]

Regards,

SI Admin (Bob)
