Here's what I've found that seems to be consistent:

1. If you include a quote mark in the first 80 characters of your post, you'll get the error message and your post won't go through.

2. If your post is shorter than 80 characters and contains a line break (you hit the Enter key) followed by more text, the odds of it going through are small, but it does go through sometimes.

3. If your post doesn't contain any quote marks or HTML code or any other iffy characters in the first 80, it will go through. I'm not sure how I'd describe "iffy" characters in a way everyone would understand it, but for the geeks out there it's basically anything you'd have to precede with a "\" if you're using PERL. Colons, semi-colons, and ampersands would be included. Not sure about apostrophes yet.
