Re SEI ----------Hi Jim, I suspect that the management compensation changes were more-or-less forced by disgruntled institutional investors. I agree that the changes are an improvement. But the problem to me is that the people who are running the company instituted the original compensation deals for themselves. This does Not say good things about their attitude toward the stkhldrs, imho.
---The accounting issues seem to be seen differently by different people. Recently a poster here called them "liberal accounting practices" and I guess if one perceives their methods/tactics that way, then it's no big deal.
It seems much more serious a thing to me. Bwdik?
---The allegations that accompanied the EGEO spin-off and bankrupcy might or might not have substance. I don't know. But the accounting issues give them more weight in my consideration. Just my suspicious mind, perhaps.
---That very high Short Interest could have more than one possible explanation. It isn't necessarily just investors betting the price will go down; And who will cover on good news giving a short squeeze run-up.
Time will tell.

I agree that in several ways SEI looks like a good play as a laggard,
but to me the main question is "Do I want to trust these people?"
and for me the answer is "No."
I think that others, individuals and institutions, are seeing it that way too, and that's why SEI seems such a laggard.
JimL, you wrote <<<"...Accounting issues and virtually all the negative news/views are already priced into the stock...">>>
---But imho it's not some bit of bad news that's depressed SEI's price, nor a negative outlook for future business conditions.
It's distrust. And that won't go away soon, if ever.
---All just my humble opinion, of course.
I've been wrong before. Lots of times.
I have no position in SEI.
I wish you and jim p and others who own it great success.

regards,
diana
