Meanwhile, high-profile Baltimore lawyer Peter Angelos may launch a class-action lawsuit on behalf of wireless consumers affected by RF emissions from wireless phones soon, according to George Carlo, head of the Radiation Protection Project in Washington, D.C., who ran the industry's $27 million safety research project from 1993 until last year when Carlo and CTIA discontinued their association at the conclusion of Carlo's contract. Angelos, who did not return calls for comment last week, has successfully litigated against the tobacco industry and asbestos manufacturers.
